Castleford Academy is an 11-19 over subscribed, successful mixed comprehensive of over 1,400 pupils offering a rich and deep curriculum. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the pastoral team at Castleford Academy.

You will:

• Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to provide an environment for pupils to reflect on their behaviour and to support the completion of class work.
• Keep records of work completed and ensure the prompt return to the class teacher.
• Follow the academy Behaviour Policy, reporting any problems to the Senior Leadership Team and/or Year Leaders.
• Contribute to the development of academy policies and procedures in relation to the Connect facility (Behaviour Unit) enabling the academy to provide the best solutions for these pupils and appropriate sanctions for misdemeanours.
• Encourage good practice by promoting and championing the safeguarding policy and procedures.

You will be/have:

• 5 GCSE’s A*-C including Maths and English.
• Knowledge of how to keep children safe in education.
• Experience of supporting and guiding young people.
• Planned and organised approach to workload.
